Our Story

When Zac first began his electrical apprenticeship, he considered joining a team focused exclusively on solar installations. His personal commitment to environmental sustainability made that path feel like the natural choice.

He quickly realized, though, that becoming a well-rounded electrician was essential to truly make a difference. Gaining experience in all areas of residential and commercial electrical work meant being able to help customers at every stage, from traditional systems to the latest renewable technologies.

Wheeler Electric was built on that same foundation: a deep respect for the environment, a drive for continual learning, and a belief that sustainability and quality go hand in hand. Today, we actively pursue opportunities in solar, EV charging, and energy efficiency while continuing to serve our community with the same dedication across all electrical needs.

Our Team

  • Zac Wheeler
    Zac Wheeler

    Co-Owner, Journeyperson Electrician

Zac began his electrical career in 2007 after many years in the customer service industry, earning his Red Seal in 2012. In 2020, he founded Wheeler Electric with a vision to combine high-quality electrical work with a people-first approach—along with a commitment to building a team of journeypersons and apprentices who are proud of what they do and love coming to work every day.

Zac loves that every day brings something different, from designing solar energy systems and troubleshooting tricky electrical challenges, to mentoring apprentices, or helping customers bring their projects to life. His dedication to quality work, clear communication, and strong relationships has shaped Wheeler Electric’s reputation for reliability and trust.

Leah was convinced to start the company with Zac because of shared values that she knew could make a positive impact on the community and create an amazing workplace experience for the whole team.  These values guide every decision at Wheeler Electric: deliver top-quality work with excellent customer service, support environmental sustainability, give back to the community in meaningful ways, and build an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.

  • Frank Dickson
    Frank Dickson

    Journeyperson Electrician

Frank found his way to electrical quite simply because he needed a change of career, feeling that there was no security in the lobster industry.  Becoming an electrician just felt right, and he had long been fascinated by the work an electrician does. This commitment led to receiving his Red Seal in 2024, and his work ethic and friendly demeanor have served him well in his role as Journeyperson and mentor.

Frank deeply appreciates the opportunity to work with his hands and literally bring ideas and dreams to "light".  As he says, "seeing the look of amazement and relief on a customer's face brings me joy and great satisfaction!

    1st-Year Apprentice Electrician

Arwin joined the Wheeler Electric team in 2025, bringing years of experience as an electrician in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia.  Making Sackville his home has meant starting a new chapter with his Canadian apprenticeship, but with his skill, enthusiasm, and genuine love of the trade, we'll be celebrating his Red Seal in no time!

Giving Back to Our Community

In 2025, to celebrate our 5th anniversary, we started a new tradition with our WE Give Back Campaign: monthly donations to local organizations that make a meaningful impact in the Tantramar region and beyond.  We are thrilled to continue this tradition in 2026!

Our goal is to support groups working to strengthen our communities, whether through environmental stewardship, social support, or building resilience for the future.
